Missing cursor after adding images

The problem began with 3.5 and has continued in 3.5.1. After adding images in a page (in the edit area) the cursor disappears. If I try to click next to an image and then add another image next to the first, sometimes it shows up where I tried to place the cursor and other times it shows up someplace else all together. If the images are deleted the cursor shows up and functions as it should. I would greatly appreciate any help. It makes it very difficult adding images within the content.
