    Hello,

    thanks for your message.

You can enable the categories for the banner from the section “Consent banner” -> “Categories” -> “Accept – Deny – View Preferences”

That is exactly the point – I do not have that option!

    Hello,

you’re checking the section “Consent banner” -> “Appearance”, did you check also the section “Consent banner” -> “General”?

    Hello @iliafrescocom ,

I checked your site and it appears that you are in the US, so you are using an opt-out banner. In an opt-out model, cookie acceptance is implied unless the user actively rejects them. This means that the user can change their preferences using the opt-out preferences page (https://complianz.io/legal/opt-out-preferences/). Therefore, the overlay isn’t applied because the banner’s role isn’t to force a decision but to provide an opt-out option.

If you want your users to make a choice, you can create the banner from scratch. You can learn more about this at: Complianz – Create Your Own Banner From Scratch.

    Hope it helps

    Hi @antoiub

this website is in US also. I run it on squarespace projectmexico.org

It does display the options regardless. I really dont see the point AT ALL to have the banner that just pops out.

Anyway, you have advertised and displayed screenshots that show the banner:

This is what i expect. I dont have to custom design what is there already? Are we miscommunicating something here !?

So how do i activate the banner above on my website?

    Hello @iliafrescocom ,

I wanted to clarify that the highlighted banner you’re referring to is specifically designed for regions that require an OPT-IN banner, such as the EU and certain areas like Quebec, Canada. We are very aware of global laws and regulations, and the current banner behavior on your site aligns with US laws. In the US, an opt-out banner is standard, meaning that cookies are accepted by default unless the user actively opts out.

If you’d prefer a banner with specific categories while remaining compliant with US laws, I recommend creating a custom banner. We have a helpful guide on how to do this here: https://complianz.io/create-your-own-banner-from-scratch/.

If you have any further questions or need assistance, I’m here to help.

    Dear Anntonio,

Thank you for the reply. I do understand that.

Perhaps, my inquiry is not clear:

I do Not want to create a custom banner.

I am asking for the option to enable the banner that you have for EU on my site if i decide to do so.

A toggle? an option to have EU style activated or deactivated as the website owners see fit.

I am familiar with USA requirement and could have created the popup without your plugin.

the reason i installed your plugin it to have the option to have that banner as a “stock option”, like storefront theme in woo

    Hi @iliafrescocom ,

    Thank you for your patience.

It’s not possible to enable the EU banner while adhering to the USA opt-out laws. If you prefer to offer an opt-in banner, I suggest enabling the EU banner, which will allow users to make a choice. However, please keep in mind that enabling the EU banner will compliance only to the EU laws.
