• I really like the WPMU DEV plugins, support and everything. It is usually the place I go first to find a solution. But Hummingbird is unfortunatelly not the case. And it is quite a shame as the actual situation with caching plugins is not good at all.

The two basic missing funcionalities here are the general CDN support and cache preload. The CDN is a must for all of our sites but the missing preload is worse. I would really love to have a plugin where you can chose between full preload with the fine-tuning switches that are already there and the sitemap preload (still, keeping the switches). And having even a possibility to choose at least 10 hours refresh urls and the rest would be dream :).

Otherwise, it is solid plugin backed by the best support on the planet.

  • Hey @pumpaxxl

Thank you very much for the honest review and rating! We greatly appreciate your feedback. It is also nice to hear that overall you like our other plugins and support ??

Though it is a bit of a shame that your experience with Hummingbird was a 3-star one, we’d love to do anything we can to change that so don’t hesitate to create a ticket.

When it comes to the CDN, the Pro version of Hummingbird does have a CDN for JS and CSS files, as well as the option to seamlessly integrate with the Smush Pro CDN for image and similar file delivery.

The free version of Hummingbird is indeed a bit limited regarding the CDN.

As for preload caching, we hear you! We are actually working on improving that, and you can be sure your feedback will be taken into account.

    All the best,
    Dave
