Since several days, the Jetpack script shows two error messages at the top of every public page:

Warning: Missing argument 2 for Jetpack_Sync_Module_Posts::send_published() in /home/.sites/50/site125/web/mentor4dogs/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/sync/class.jetpack-sync-module-posts.php on line 189

Warning: Missing argument 3 for Jetpack_Sync_Module_Posts::send_published() in /home/.sites/50/site125/web/mentor4dogs/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/sync/class.jetpack-sync-module-posts.php on line 189

Everything is up-to-date on the website, with WordPress 4.6.1 and Jetpack 4.4.1. In the Jetpack-settings in the WordPress admin area, everything appears to be OK and no issue is shown. The error message only appears on the customer-facing pages, not in the admin area.

The issue can currently be seen at: https://www.mentor4dogs.at/
When searching for this error message, it seems that some other web sites are affected as well; however, I did not find a workaround or any reason that would explain this behaviour.

Thanks for the report! It seems to come from a conflict with another plugin.
Could you try to deactivate all other plugins, one at a time, and let me know if you find the source of the issue?

I would also recommend that you check your site’s wp-config.php file and make sure WP_DEBUG is set to false there.

In the meantime, we’ll see if we can suppress the warning on our end as well.

Thanks for the tip! I tried that, interesting results. The culprit seems to be the “Pet Manager” plugin:

WP_DEBUG is actually already set to false in wp-config.php.

As the Pet Manager plug-in is crucial for this site, I can’t really deactivate it. Should I report the issue to the Pet Manager authors instead?

That could help, yes. You could also set WP_DEBUG to true for a little bit, as it may help you gather more information about the problem, and that could be helpful for the Pet Manager plugin author.

Hi all,

Had the same problem on my site with a user submission form. Got a response back from the plugin developer that took care of the issue and just thought I’d pass it on. Did the trick for me.

We’ll also be making changes to Jetpack itself to try to work around that problem with Pet Manager.
