When I look at the Console Tab for Chrome Web Developers Tools (Clicking F12 in Chrome), I always see the following on every page of my site, which causes my pages to load slower than they should…

    responsivevoice.js?source=wp-plugin&ver=5.4.2:118 ResponsiveVoice missing API key.
    See https://responsivevoice.org/register?devtools=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.dailycdev.com%2F
    ResponsiveVoice.a.init @ responsivevoice.js?source=wp-plugin&ver=5.4.2:118
    (anonymous) @ responsivevoice.js?source=wp-plugin&ver=5.4.2:161

The ResponsiveVoice Text To Speech version is at 1.6.4.
    Any assistance would be great.
I like your plugin for wordpress, but this issue needs fixed for me to keep using it.
    Thanks.

I was able to register my site with the code I got from the https://responsivevoice.org/ website. I also placed the Code in the header of all my pages. So the API Warning is now gone for me logged in as an admin, since my site is now verified. However, when I go into Ingognito mode in Chrome, I get the following message on every page…
ResponsiveVoice missing API key. See https://responsivevoice.org/register?devtools=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.dailycdev.com%2F
    ResponsiveVoice.a.init @ 000734da2c39e11e2ef9b4d2aef44183.js:1

So how do I fix this for the general public and not just for me when I am logged into wordpress?

Had the same issue. In my case ‘removing query strings’ (by a cache plugin) was the culprit.
That also removes ‘?source=wp-plugin’ from ‘responsivevoice.js?source=wp-plugin’ apart from ‘ver=1.1.1’

Where is the API key? In your new updated plugin you force users to register on your website and get the API key but the key is nowhere to be found….. time to uninstall this plugin?
