• I created the blog through Fantastico on Lunar Pages. I have read carefully and cannot find my API key. Additionally I tried to create an account (no blog just the account) through wordpress directly with no luck there either. (that was suggested on a forum.) Any help out there?

  • Same problem happen to my host.
    I have tried to change my e-mail, but I have no API key.
    Then I uninstall and install for 3 times, but it ‘s still happen that the API key is gone. No confirmation by e-mail. What should I do?

    You are supposed to get the API key from WordPress.com, not sure if that’s what you did.

    I’ve had an account with WP for a year and had an API key but now when I look for it in ALL the areas its supposed to be ( on www.remarpro.com and on my blog, not hosted on WP servers), I see absolutely no key…

    Is there something going on with they keys?

    Thx

    Hi, I have the same problem. I set up WordPress through Fantastico on Siteground. There is no API key. Any support from WordPress support would be appreciated, even if it’s to say that you don’t have an answer. Thanks.

    If you have Akismet loaded it should show up on your Akismet pages in the admin area.

    Hi,

    I have ASkimet loaded, I’m not sure what you mean by the askimet page sinthe Admin area. I’ve activated Askimet as a plug in and its now obviously still asking me for the famous API key; which is nowhere to be seen, either on my blogs or here on the wordpress site in My Account.

    I signed up for a wordpress account to get an API key. However, after placing the key to my WordPress Blog Stats, this error comes up:

    ====================
    Error from last API Key attempt:

    Missing API Key
    ====================

    Before this error appeared, I was directed to a page that states the following:

    ======================
    WordPress.com Stats

    The API key “##########” belongs to the WordPress.com account of “adminnevergirl”. If this is not your account, please re-enter your API key.

    According to the WordPress.com database, this API key is already associated with at least one self-hosted blog. You can add this as a new blog on your WordPress.com account or replace an existing blog and inherit its stats history.
    Add new blog to my account

    Do this if this blog is new or has never been associated with your API key. This blog will be added to your WordPress.com account.

    ===========================

    The account “adminnevergirl” is the account which I made so I can get the API. Until now my stats is still not working.

    Please advice.

    Thank you for your time.

    same problem as everyone else ?? i had it working before. so there is a solution.

    Was getting the same error, but the error didn’t accurately reflect what the problem was. The problem was the another WordPress.com account already “owned” that blog.

    This is what fixed my problem:
