Hi there!
Thank you for reaching out.
From what I understand, you are getting an annoying error message that reads ‘missing alt text <img height=”1″ width=”1″ style=”display:none;” alt=”” src=”https://ct.pinterest.com/v3/?tid=‘.
Could you please let us know how you get to access the error message? Also, please share with us a screenshot of the error message from your site? You can use an image sharing software like https://snipboard.io/. Here’s how to make a screenshot: https://wordpress.com/support/make-a-screenshot/
When we have some more information, we’ll gladly offer any guidance we can.
Best Regards,
Thanks in advance for your help! The error is on every page of my website https://tableandcourt.com and was pointed out by ahref in site audit and RankMath SEO for every page (see attached screen shot).
And not sure if related to the same issue, but the Save Pinterest icon only seems to appear on related products once a specific product is shopped for and no where else…
Hi @clementco,
Thanks again for getting back to us!
Thanks in advance for your help! The error is on every page of my website?https://tableandcourt.com?and was pointed out by ahref in site audit and RankMath SEO for every page (see attached screen shot).
I understand you’re still having trouble with the missing alt text error.
The ‘missing alt text’ error you’re experiencing is due to the lack of an alternative text in your image tag. The alt text is used by screen readers for visually impaired users, and it helps with SEO.
To fix this, you need to add a brief description of the image within the alt attribute. If it’s missing, you’ll get an error based on the search engine optimization plugins used.
Here’s how to add a brief alt text to the affected images:
1. Go to the page where the image is located.
2. Click on the image to select it.
3. In the right-side panel, you’ll see an option for ‘Alt Text’.
4. Enter a brief description of the image in the ‘Alt Text’ field.
5. Click ‘Update’ to save your changes.
Please note that the alt text should accurately describe what’s in the image so that it’s useful for people who can’t see it.
If the issue persists, please send us a copy of your site’s System Status? You can find this report by navigating to?WooCommerce > Status?on your website. Select?Get system report?and then?Copy for support.
Once you’ve done that, can you then paste the contents of the report into your next response for us?
Please remove any sensitive information before posting your system status report.
When we have some more information, we’ll gladly offer any guidance we can.Hello, I understand alt text and every image on my site has alt text. The only images that don’t are svg icons. I thought the image that is missing the alt text (my original question) is the pinterest icon from pinterest at that link…<img height=”1″ width=”1″ style=”display:none;” alt=”” src=”https://ct.pinterest.com/v3/?tid=‘. which I have no control over setting…
Hello there,
I would say that to fix that, you will need to customize the Pinterest plugin. To make sure we’re on the same page, where are you getting that report and information to have more context?
Thanks in advance for your help! The error is on every page of my website?https://tableandcourt.com?and was pointed out by ahref in site audit and RankMath SEO for every page (see above screenshot from 5 days ago).
Also from Google Page Speed: pinterest-for-woocommerce-save-button.js:17:2Fetch API cannot load chrome-extension://gpdjojdkbbmdfjfahjcgigfpmkopogic/html/save.html. URL scheme “chrome-extension” is not supported.
And missing alt text <img height=”1″ width=”1″ style=”display:none;” alt=”” src=”https://ct.pinterest.com/v3/?tid= is shown for every page of my site pointed out in ahref image link issues.
Thanks for giving that context.
Could you share a copy of your site’s System Status Report with us?
You’ll find it at the top of the page under WooCommerce > Status > Get system report > Download for support (after you scroll down a bit). Once you have the System Status Report file, please attach it to your reply. As text or is there an attachment method?
Hello there,
You can attach it as text, sorry if I didn’t specify that.
The error seems to be coming from this line which was added by the plugin and appears on every page (if you view source near the top of the body). <noscript><img height=”1″ width=”1″ style=”display:none;” alt=”” src=”https://ct.pinterest.com/v3/?tid=2613023123356&noscript=1″ /></noscript>
I’m obviously not a developer but perhaps if a space is added to the alt such as alt=” ” it would prevent the SEO error message?
As this line is for the tracking pixel, I edited Tracking.php code in your plugin by inserting Pinterest tracking pixel in between the alt quotes. All is fine in terms of SEO reporting now. Hope this may help others with similar SEO reporting issue.
