missing alt tag

  • Hello,

    I am getting a report on Bing of an image without an Alt description. I went to my WordPress media menu and included an alt description to all photos! Yes I’m still getting this report on Bing. The Bing report seems to say that this is coming from the footer/widget, please how do I solve this??

    Hi there,

    Thanks for reaching out!

    Based on your screenshot, the report is referring to the image added in the footer area using Gutenberg Image block via a block widget.

    However, upon inspecting the image, I saw that it actually has an alt text. Here’s a screen recording: https://share.getcloudapp.com/4gu4ywPm

    The possible reason I can think of is that Bing could be seeing a cached version of your site in which the image doesn’t have an alt text yet.

    Can you clear the website cache via Autoptimize and recheck it?

    Note that this is an issue with the theme or the image block. It could be a caching issue or a false report from Bing.
