Missing address in menu, delete language reappears but language keeps updating!

    Hi I have a copy of a Woocommerce installation that I’ve been working on to become a live site. I recently noticed that the ‘Address’ (edit addresses) menu item was missing from the logged in account menu. After looking at various posts and:

    a) making sure the edit address endpoint exists
    b) using Loco Translate to see if I could find a missing ‘address’

    I could not find the problem. I eventually fixed it by deleting wp-content/languages/plugins/woocommerce-en_GB.po

    and it immediately made the ‘Address’ menu item come back. Out of curiosity I was going to compare the same file from the source installation but that installation does not have an ‘en’/English files in those locations!

    I logged in today and I had to do a plugin update and with it, I think, it did a translations update. Unfortunately this has reinstated a woocommerce-en_GB.po and the ‘Address’ menu item is missing again.

    I can, of course, delete the file again but I’m not sure why it keeps reappearing bearing in mind the only language I use is English UK and it does not have any translation plugins like WPML installed. The irony is that the source installation that it was copied from has WPML installed but no ‘en’ files.

    Being that the website only uses English UK, is there a way to permanently set it to not have translation files? I’d like to think I could delete all the file/folder contents of /wp-content/languages/ but I’m not sure they’d reappear!

    Any ideas?

    Update: I deleted the entire contents of /wp-content/languages/ and this worked insofar as the ‘address’ text came back. However, the button to update translations was showing, clicked that and it’s rebuilt the files/folders that I just deleted and ‘Address’ is missing again!

    I don;t quite get what translations it needs as it is a single language site but I did take a screen shot of what it updated:

    Also, I have tried disabling all plugins (other than Woo) and using 2023 theme and the problem still persists, so it isn’t a conflict.

    Could you please send me a copy of your site’s System Status? You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select Get system report and then Copy for support.

    Once you’ve done that, you can paste the text in https://gist.github.com/ and feel free to change/remove your site URL in the report for privacy reasons.

    It’s interesting as this probematic installation is based off a copy of another live installation where it does not exhibit this loss of Addresses on an update.

    Thanks for sharing the System Status Report.

    I can see that your site’s language is using English United Kingdom, correct? This may be related to the open bug mentioned by Pepe above and reported on this Github thread.

    Can you please confirm if your other site that is not experiencing the issue here is using the English United States?

    Yes, that is correct however, I’m not sure in my desperation to get it fixed I changed the affected site from US to UK. I’m pretty sure I’ve tried switching both ways and the same happens…
