I was really excited to try out this plugin because the interface is so nicely designed. But unfortunately, it is worthless to me since it will not reliably record hits. I set everything up, then tried to hit my website from a variety of machines and browsers and OSes, and here is what happened:

    1. Connecting from any browser (FF, Safari, Chrome) on my macbook (yosemite) – no hits
    2. Connecting from my iphone mobile safari and chrome (same subnet) – Safari hit recorded, chrome hit not recorded
    3. Connecting from my mac mini (same subnet) – Safari hit recorded, chrome hit not recorded
    4. Connecting from IE in parallels (same subnet) – no hit recorded
    5. Connecting from Firefox in parallels (same subnet, ubuntu) – no hit recorded
    6. Connecting from ipad (same subnet) – both safari and chrome hits recorded

Since these results are so all over the place, I can’t rely on this to actually count visits. And before you ask: yes, track registered users set to yes, and even set all bots and spam to track as well, but results as above.

The hit was not recorded, because you already visited the page. Your IP which did not change in your subsequent requests remained the same, that’s why your visit was not recorded.

ALL of the browsers I connected with were on the same IP, yet SOME of them recorded hits, and some of them did not.

And even so, there should be a settings that allows recording of shared IPs, as there could be many different people at many different machines connecting from behind a firewall.

You connected from your Desktop, iPhone and iPad. Did you use your wi-fi connection on all devices?

    yes.

There is a lot of reasons why some of the hits were not recorded. By hits I mean visitors.

Page views should be recorded according to your plugin settings. There is a timeout test, and a cookie test which triggers whether the visitor is a new one, or a returning one.

The function to detect new visitors is pretty complex, and is designed to show unique real human visitors. It was tested carefully and should be reliable.

I’d suggest you test from incognito mode from different IPs using proxies for example.

Use tools.pingdom.com/fpt and select different servers, you will see it’s working fine.
