• Hi,

I’m trouble shooting why we are missing 30% give or take of sales in Google Analytics.

    Is this a high percentage?
    What is a reasonable percentage?
Is there a way I can track how many users are blocking GTM?

I need to be able to either:

    A) Demonstrate this missing percentage is normal
    B) Find where we are losing this data and correct it.

Thank you for your time and feedback.

So I have some interesting data from HotJar.com tracking.

I have been looking at the users whom completed orders in HotJar and I can see users that

    A) Have been tracked by GTM/GA
    B) Not been tracked by GTM/GA

Why would they be tracked with HotJar but not GTM/GA?

    Hi,

    Could you check this?

    Open GA reports (Universal Analytics)
Go to Behaviour – Site content – All pages
Filter the list to URLs only containing the order-received string.

Those URLs will also include the order ID
Now look at order IDs that are missing from the transaction report in GA.

If you see data in the Site content report for specific order IDs that means that the page view was tracked correctly but the purchase event not. If you do not see the order ID in the Site content report that means that the separate page view tracking did not work either thus there seems to be a more generic issue.
