    That Google Analytics report shows the trackable shares attributed specifically to your on-site share buttons.

    The AddToAny share counter, however, is an official aggregate count of shares (primarily on Facebook) via all methods (from AddToAny, your site, the Facebook News Feed, manual shares, etc.) — that is why it’s larger than what you’ll find in G.A.

    OK. That is sort of plausible, but there’s more than 2 orders of magnitude difference which seems less than plausible.

    And how does AtA track shares that happen without using the AtA buttons?
