In the backend, in my “media” section, I have some media (ZIP) files. These are used by my “Downloads” using your plugin.

Bu, in the “Media” section it tells me in the “Uploaded to” column that these files are unattached. This is not accurate as they are attached to download entries via your plugin.

Thank you for reaching out to us.

I carried out a test in my dev site and it works well for me. This is what I did to prove that it is working for me.

1- I uploaded two different files. One file zipped and one image file via Add New in the Downloads admin section of the plugin.

2- Added each upload to a different Add New. In other words I now have two downloads added to the plugin ready to be added to a post or page via a shortcode.

3- I checked Media -> Library and both files display the Detach option. This means that both are now attached.

As you can see from the steps above it works for me. You might have a conflict somewhere in your site. Please try the following troubleshooting steps.

Let me know how you go.

Hi! Thanks for the reply. I have now manually corrected it in the backend.

Is it possible that when we have an existing “Download” and we edit the download and select a new thumbnail / download file (both via Select > Upload) … in this context what happens to the previous thumbnail / download? What is meant to happen from the plugins point of view with the replaced files?

Maybe that was why, as I have been updating the downloads this way.

I just completed an edition of one of the downloads I added above. I replaced the download file with a different file. Then I saved it and checked Media -> Library and the file displays the Detach option. The file I replace also displays the Detach option. So I can confirm it also works for me. Both files are still attached to the Add New?in the?Downloads?admin section of the plugin.

Maybe that was why, as I have been updating the downloads this way.

I recommend that you always add a new upload instead of editing an existing download. This should prevent any issues from happening in the future. Of course always check to make sure the shortcode has the correct ID for the new download file.

    Kind regards.
