• Hi all,

Apologies in advance – again, I’m still finding my way around WooCommerce. A few more questions, please:

    1. In the template overrides section, I’m seeing several out-of-date PHP files, e.g. ‘add-to-cart.php version 1.6.4 is out of date. The core version is 2.1.0‘. Is this anything to worry about? How do I use the up-to-date version? (I’m happy to FTP in and move PHP files about.)

    2. On the product page(s), the product thumbnail is far too small. It’s also square. I sell my own landscape prints, so they need to be both bigger and the correct landscape aspect ratio. See https://www.andymason.gallery/product/for-those-in-peril-on-the-sea as an example. Any ideas, please?

    3. The ‘Related Products’ thumbnails are similar. (See at the bottom of https://www.andymason.gallery/product/infinity-staircase as an example.) Too small, square, and they’re also squashed horizontally, i.e. the pixel aspect ratio is wrong. Again, how to I please force WooCommerce to use the correct dimensions?

    4. Lastly, is there a way to display the full dimensions of the different print variations? I’ve entered the L×W×H under each variation, but it’s not visible anywhere on the page or cart. (I haven’t entered the weight.)

For reference, I’m using the Tripod theme.

    Many thanks indeed!

    Andy.

  • 1. Its not a good sign. You are using version 2.6 of your theme. Consider updating to the current version 3.0 which probably has the up-to-date WC files. Take a backup before updating.

2 & 3. It looks like the thumbnail size in this case is set by the theme. Updating your theme is the first step and if there is still a problem the vendor is best placed to deal with theme related issues. Otherwise some custom css may help.

    4. I think these dims are just for shipping purposes. To show them to the customer you will need to put them in the product description text.

    Thanks once again lorro. ??

    1. Well spotted – will update ASAP. (I also need to sort a backup plugin for the site..)

    2. and 3. Understood, thanks. Again, another reason to update. The support for the theme has been very good, so will contact them if I can’t adjust the theme settings myself.

    4. Ok, will put them in the copy for the product description.

Very much obliged for your help!

    Andy.
