Thanks for the good words and for your question. I’m not exactly sure what you want to achieve.

The MLA Enhanced Search box works a bit differently from the default WordPress Media Manager search. The WordPress search goes through the items already downloaded to the browser; MLA always goes back to the server. The search button is there because that’s the only way to start the search, going back to the server to search the entire Media Library.

You can disable the MLA Enhanced search box if you want. Go to the Settings/Media library assistant General tab and scroll down to the checkboxes for the Media Manager enhancements. You can disable the Search box or you can just hide the extra radio button and checkbox controls beneath the box.

If you want to take that approach, you should know that the current MLA version 1.93 has a bug when the box is disabled. You can download the Development version (which has a fix) or wait a few days for me to release my next version. I regret the inconvenience in the interim.

If I haven’t understood your question, please try again and I will be more helpful. Thanks for your interest in the plugin.

I want to keep the MLA search box in the stock media library, but it just seems the styling of it is incorrect. The word SEARCH on the button is aligned to the bottom and the margin above the search field is more than what’s beneath the checkboxes. Again, very nitpicky and it doesn’t affect the functionality at all. I suppose I’m really wondering if there’s something on my installation of WordPress causing it or if everyone sees it this way.

Aha! Now I understand your issue more clearly; thanks for expanding on your issue. Thanks as well for posting the without/with image clips to illustrate the details; very helpful. I can see the same layout on my test system, so further investigation should be straightforward.

I have had quite a bit of, um, “unusual” CSS styling issues adding the MLA controls to the Media Manager toolbar (and the new Media Grid), and I will be the first to admit I am not a CSS expert.

I will have another close look at this aspect of the styles and see if I can improve it in my next version, due out shortly.

I have released MLA version 1.94, which includes some improvements in the CSS styles for the toolbar controls.

I am marking this topic resolved, but please update it if you have any problems or more suggestions after upgrading to the new version.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention, and for you interest in the plugin.
