    Okay …

I installed this plug in on my main site and added a subdomain for every blog I wanted yo use.

I exported my blogs a while back and now imported the posts of 1 blog. When I call up Categories, it shows that there are posts for that category, but I cannot see those posts anywhere else.

Also, when I type in the URL of one of the new blog subdomains, all I get is a 404 error.

    https://g-rated.eternalsky.us

Was I supposed to put some kind of index.php file in each subdomain? If so, what does that need to contain?

Also, it seems that I lose my wp-admin.css when I try to access the G-Rated blogs in any way. I get an admin page, sort of, but there’s no styling or structure. Everything is in a single column.

I use Go Daddy as my web host, could that be the problem?

  • Hi,

Have you installed the most recent version of the plugin? Things are still evolving quite rapidly, so I’d keep an eye on that ??

Sounds like there’s a hosting configuration problem with your subdomains. If they’re configured correctly, “blah.mydomain.com” and “www.mydomain.com” should load the same page when the plugin is disabled. This shouldn’t be a redirect, but rather, an alias. I haven’t used Go Daddy hosting, so I’m not sure how to configure this on their system – sorry.

Funny you’d be losing the css on the admin page. Could you email me a screenshot of this so I can try to reproduce it? My email address is on the plugin page: https://www.smashlab.com/incubator/minimu

    Cheers,
    Eric.

    Hi Eric,

Actually, the only way I can get your plug in to work is to have a separate installation of WP in each subdomain. And even then, I have to work with each blog’s separate admin panel to edit posts, etc.

    Is this what you intended?

Pointing all the blogs at mydomain.com just causes the most recently added blog to show its posts below the main blog posts.

I think I may just have to try to tame WPMU because no one has made a plug-in that truly allowed you to run multiple blogs off a single installation of WP since the Multiply plug-in.

    Hi,

No, it works with a single installation of WordPress.

If you’d like, just email me a screenshot of the MiniMU admin settings page, and I can try to point you in the right direction ?? My email address is on the plugin page: https://www.smashlab.com/incubator/minimu

    Cheers,
    Eric.

    Hi, Eric
I installed your plugin and it is working but not like it should.
The child blog in a subdomain of the main domain appears with the new template and the new title but with all the posts, like the parent blog, and not only the posts of the chosen category.
    What cold be wrong?
    Cheers

@hjesus – are your posts assigned only to the category chosen in the MiniMU settings? Posts that belong to the “Uncategorized” category will appear on all domains.

Are you using nested categories? There’s currently an issue with nested categories that might cause the problem you describe. If so, try it with a top-level category to see if that’s the problem. I’ll try to fix this very soon! ??

    Cheers,
    Eric.

Thank you for your prompt answer. It is realy a great plugin if you get to solve this problems.

Well, after your answer I must say following:

1 – If I assign the posts only to the category, they no longer appear in the main blog but I intended to show them there too. But ok, if it is not possible, I will find a way.
2 – But even so I still have in the child blog ALL posts of the main one.
3 – I have no posts in Uncategorized, i.e., Uncategorized was renamed to General and has posts. Can be?
4 – No, I’m not using a nested category for the child blog. But I have other nested categories in the main blog.

Well, I am going to try again.

    Thanks a lot

    Hug,

    Henrique

So, I’ve tried and could put it working. I deleted all categories and leaved only General (Uncategorized). Then I created only an extra category that I assigned to the posts I want to show in the subdomain. It worked. Then I tried to assign the posts to General and it worked again. Great!
    This a great feature!
Congratulations and keep on making it better.

    Many thnks for the plugin,

    Hug,
    Henrique

Sorry, I forgot to leave the links

    https://horabsurda.net is the main blog
https://gripedosporcos.horabsurda.net is the child blog and
https://gripedosporcos.info is also a child but in another domain

All of them are at Godaddy

    Cheers
