Minimal Grid Child Theme Problem

Hi – I like the Minimal Grid theme and am considering buying the PRO version but want to trial the free version before committing. The first thing I’ve tried is creating a child-theme and I’ve hit a snag. The link colour in the child theme is #337AB7 instead of #000000 as in the parent theme – same in all links e.g. on the About page you can see the same in the right side bar with archive dates etc.

I’ve checked the enqueuing of parent styles and it seems ok yet I’m having this problem.

I’ve overcome this by brute-force for now by adding customer CSS to the tag but would rather not have to do that.
