• I set up wordpress multisite on my site a little while ago(about a month)… and recently google has started handing me internal server error 500 responses for my pages when it trys to crawl them.

Around the same time I got this response from W3 total cache

Recently an error occurred while creating the CSS / JS minify cache: No sources to serve

No clue what that means… I’ve searched on here and it seems to be generally unknown.. the only responses I have seen from devs were “this will be sorted in next version” but they were posts from 9 months ago…

Just an update – this still isn’t resolved even though I removed multisite and went back to normal

There are loads of other posts about this now and no responses from Devs..

    Hi there Odd Duck,

Any update on this? I’m having the same problem. Getting 500 internal server error when activate plugin.
I’m using the X WP theme & found this (below) on forum. Have implemented suggested settings, but still nothing.

‘Make sure it’s CSS Tidy, then following these config:

    Disable inline JS & CSS
    Enable ‘combine only’

Uncheck pretty much everything else on the W3 Cache minify page.’

Seems the problem could be linked to the ‘minify’ settings….

Let me know if you have any luck getting this resolved.

I accidently wiped my site a few days ago, but had a backup

A couple of the minify cache files didn’t upload and now I don’t appear to be getting any minify errors…

pressing the empty cache button didn’t work but perhaps navigating in your FTP client to where it stores the minify cache might help.

If it happens again I’ll let you know

This has also fixed the issue with the google crawler returning internal server error 500’s
