Hello. I’ve just installed the free MiniFolio theme.

The home page is an image slider only. There doesn’t appear to be a ‘page’ that I can edit.

The video instructions are vague and don’t explain how to set up the home page. I’m at a loss and this is meant to be a simple, basic theme. Here is the theme/instructional video: https://www.wpexplorer.com/minifolio-wordpress-theme

I did try to edit a “slider” option, but it asked for URLs. My attempts to add the URLs to my images in the media library simply didn’t work. It ended up as a post, with no visible image.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

Sorry, just to clarify – I’m not trying to customize anything, either.

    hi qwenyn

im not familiar with that particular theme but generally you can set your home page from dashboard > settings > reading. it can be a post or page. first create the post or page you want to use; then set it.

    hope this helps

    Hello, Courtney,

Thank you for that – it was helpful to know. It’s not the solution to this problem, unfortunately for me! The reason is that the theme comes with the home page slider as the default home page. But I can’t find anything to select in dashboard > settings > reading except a sub-page I created. So I’m at a loss as to where the index page file is???

    Perhaps I shouldn’t use a free theme. >:-(

I’m sorry but as you are using a theme that is behind a subscription paywall, you need to seek support from the theme’s developers directly.

Hi, esmi. Well, as it’s a free theme they won’t answer support queries, so I was hoping someone in the English-speaking forums had used the theme. I have seem discussions of this exact problem in the Dutch, Polish and Japanese WP forums… but the translations came through unintelligible.

It’s behind a TWITTER wall, which means that it is not freely available. If you cannot get satisfactory support from the theme’s developers I suggest that you switch to another theme.

OK, esmi. I wonder why general forum support for this theme was available on the Dutch, Polish and Japanese WordPress forums, even though it is behind a TWITTER wall. Noted.

Sorry – no idea but the bottom line is that we cannot access the theme.

OK, thank you for trying to have a look, though.

I figured it out. It was a WordPress ‘how-to’ basic that as a newbie I didn’t understand, NOT a theme-based problem.

I have email alerts enabled, so if anyone else has this problem, post here and I’ll post back and help you.

On the left hand side, Minifolio creates a new admin link “Slides”.
Just add a new Slide by putting a title, a link (optional) and setting a featured image.

And you are good to go!

    Hi, marcoberndt,

Thanks. Yes, that’s what I was doing but it hadn’t worked. The reason it didn’t work was that I had set the default posts as ‘static’ but was meant to set it to ‘recent posts’. Once I did that, the slides were automatically set as the home page.

Are you using the theme as well?

    Hi Gwenyn

    Perfect, you got it!

I just started yesterday, reworking my current website (www.marcoberndt.de) – more lighter, easier and more focused.

And I think, this theme is perfect as a basis for my plan.

For what are you using it?

Marco, that looks great and the theme is surprisingly suited for your kind of work. How did you get your logo in the upper left to replace the text?

I’m using it for my art portfolio. It’s not SEO optimised or ready to share publicly yet, but I can email you the link if you like (through your website contact form). ??

    Hey Gwenyn,

my website is not finished, yet. It is a draft.

Ja, just write me an E-Mail and send your E-Mail Addresse and so I will respond as soon as possible.

I would love to help you with your theme.
