Hi, when I remove items from the mini cart block, and then close the sidebar window, if I refresh the page, the basket is refilled automatically with the item?

Please note that i’m on the latest version of Woo and using the default 2024 theme.

  • Hey there, @mikeydev! Thanks for contacting us. I’m happy to help you.

I went to your website and was able to see the issue you mentioned. However, I was not able to replicate it on my test website.

I understand you are using a default theme, but it is possible that another plugin is causing this to happen. Can you please run a conflict test?

To test, you’ll want to deactivate all plugins except for WooCommerce and take a look. If that fixes the problem, re-enable the other plugins one by one (gradually), checking after each, to see where the issue is coming from.

    — Be sure you have a good backup in place of your full site and database. You can ask your host for backup functionality or you can consider using a service like Jetpack. If something goes wrong, you will be able to restore it.

    — Also, you can consider using a plugin like Health Check & Troubleshooting. This is a plugin developed by the WordPress community and it is helpful to disable plugins without affecting your current site visitors.

    — It is important to consider as well a staging functionality in case you would not like to touch your production site (you can ask your host if they offer this service), or you can use WP Staging for quickly spinning up a new test site.

You can find more about this in this guide.

Please let us know about your findings.

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Have a wonderful day!

Hi Carol, I’ve since tested this in troubleshooting mode with a default theme and just the latest version of WOO installed and the same thing is happening.
I’ve also created a Woo test site called woo.webdesignpro.co and the first time I added a product from the basket and then removed it, it didn’t happen. I then changed the Mini-Cart setting to display price and retested and the error happened. I turned the display price off and then re-tested and the first time it didn’t error, the second time it did. Try it yourself a couple of times. Add to basket from the product itself and then clear the basket from the mini-cart popout. Then close the mini-cart and then refresh the page. You will get asked if you want to re-submit the form again by the browser. I’ve tested this in Chrome and Safari and the same thing happens.

    Hi @mikeydev,

After reviewing your explanation, it looks like you’ve thoroughly tested your site and have narrowed down the issue to the Mini-Cart block’s display price setting. I appreciate your diligence in this matter.

However, I tried to replicate the issue using Storefront and the 2024 theme with WC 8.6.1 to 8.5.2, but it seems to be working fine on all my testing sites.

I even tried replicating the issue on your staging site here: https://woo.webdesignpro.co. But unluckily, everything seems to work fine on my Safari, Chrome and Firefox browsers.

From my experience, this could be resolved by clearing your browser’s cache and cookies. You can follow our detailed guide on clearing browser cache here: https://wordpress.com/support/browser-issues/#clearing-your-browser-cache

Please note that the issue you’re describing is not a known bug, so it’s essential to gather as much information as possible for our developers.. Could you please share a copy of the following:

    • System Status Report: Navigate to WooCommerce → Status. Select Get System Report and then Download for Support.
    • Fatal Error log: Share a copy of any fatal error log found under WooCommerce → Status → Logs.

You could copy and paste your reply or share it via Mozilla Community Pastebin and share the link here. This will help us investigate further and provide you with a more accurate solution.

In the meantime, you can run a conflict test to help you identify the cause of the issue. More info: https://woo.com/document/how-to-test-for-conflicts/

Let us know how that goes for you.
