migrition – to which database will it be restored

    Hello,

    to upgrade to a new theme I migrated my wordpress to a temporary subdomain.

    I saved all with updraftplus, including the database.

    Now I want to restore it to the subdomain on the same server, also with updraftplus.

    In the new instance of wordpress I also set up a new database for this.

    While restoring I get the warning:
    “This looks like a migration (the backup is from a site with a different address”

    That is ok so far. But to which database will it now restore? To the new database in the new wordpress installation or to the original database?

    Hi there,

    When you restore from within your new WordPress installation the database will be restored to the database which pertains to that installation. In this case, the new database.
