    Hello!

I was planning to launch my website soon, it was ready! but yesterday my hosting wasn’t working well, so, host provider decided to change my domain to another server. Before that, I saved my information in my computer and also, I exported my wordpress design by tools.

Now, after moving my server. I saved my information to my hosting and also, I installed the plugin “WordPress Importer” and pressed import, but I can not get my design again.

WHAT CAN I DO TO GET IT AGAIN LIKE I WAS?

  • Did you save a copy of your theme?

yes, I did. I have this in my computer and I saved it to my hosting by FTP program

You should just be able to upload the theme’s folder to wp-content/themes and then activate it via Appearance->Themes.

I did… now the theme is installed, but without my information. :S

    I’m really worried!

Did you re-install WordPress or just move it? Are you connecting to the correct database in your wp-config.php file?

    I had wordpress 3.0.4.
    Now I re-intalled and have 3.0.5.

I found at “POST TAGS” some tag with the name of my works… but without photos and information…

It might be better if you installed WP 3.0.4, restored your old database and then upgraded to 3.0.5.

Oh I so hope someone here can help! I’ve just had a similar thing happen.
I managed to get most of my new WP site transferred from my local computer host where I’ve been developing the new site. My site is mostly comprised of pages with information and pictures. Using Filezilla I’ve mirrored the local folders on my new remote test directory folders. However, although the thumbnail pictures on the pages are reproducing on the remote site, all the large (top of each page) header pics are not. Nor are the 4 photos I’ve used in the Accordian Showcase on the Home Page. None of the photos presently in the Media Library on my local site transferred into the Media Library on the remote site (yet the in-page pictures are still showing up on the remote site). The upload folders are all in their proper place on the remote site, but no photos in the Media Library! Any ideas on how to correct this?
