I am having problems with the migration preview I cannot get around. When I run the preview I always get a couple of notices such as the following. I’m replacing the event name with ###### – this is not part opf the error. After recieving these messages I delete the indicated events and run the preview again. BUT THEN 2 OR TWO NEW EVENTS COME UP WITH ERRORS THAT WEREN’T REPORTED BEFORE? Even though I fully deleted the only called out events this happens repeatedly on events that were previously passed. The problem is always the same related to TECEventsCustom_TablesV1ModelsOccurrence
I use DIVI and the PeeAye Creative Divi Events Calendar plugin in addition to the events calendar. ANyone experiencing something like this.

The event ############# generated an error: [TECEventsCustom_TablesV1ModelsOccurrence implements the Serializable interface, which is deprecated. Implement __serialize() and __unserialize() instead (or in addition, if support for old PHP versions is necessary)]. Please try again or check out our Troubleshooting tips.

Hi @mslovak, sorry to hear about this. I suspect it could be the PHP version.

Could you try switching to PHP 8.0? We do have customers having the same issue, switching the PHP version to 8, should fix the issue.

Let me know how it goes. I’d be glad to help you out further with this one.

    Best,
    Abz

I have issues too. I ran the update on my live site after reading the notes. All ok. Have not run the migration part on the live site. Downloaded a backup & put it on Local by Flywheel staging site (PHP8). Can’t run the migration preview but went to migrate anyway. Stopped every time with error codes. The main one was The event xxxx generated an error [The 104400 is greater than the duration of the event].
Checked all of them, couldn’t see any errors. I am only running the most basic features, no ticketing or repeat events, only with the free version. https://www.victorianquilters.org/?post_type=tribe_events and yes I am going to fix the permalink.
Is this something that another update will address?

Hi @mtadesigns, sorry to hear about this. It seems like this is a known issue while migrating to 6.0. https://theeventscalendar.com/known-issues/#migration-errors

We have users reporting a similar issue. We have already created an internal bug ticket for this, and I have already added your case to it. Our development team is working on this, and rest assured we will provide a solution as soon as possible.

I’d keep this thread open, and we would notify you whenever there are updates in this thread. Again apologies for the inconvenience.

    Best,
    Abz

    Hi Abz,
Thanks for the response. I don’t know if this will help you, but in my Local site I deleted the two events which seemed to be stopping everything (after reverting to draft etc didn’t work). It didn’t work until I emptied the trash. The two events were both on the same weekend, October 1 – 2. They were not created on the same day. I was just wondering if it could be a date thing with the month/day being 1001 ? I’m in Australia. After I trashed them the migration appeared to work.
I won’t attempt the migration on the live site yet just in case, and will keep an eye on this thread and the FB page.
    Thanks again,
    Marita

    Hi Abz
Thanks for the guidance. I moved PHP back to 8.0 from 8.1 and the migration worked fine with no errors. Can I safely move back to 8.1?
    Thanks

Hi @mslovak, thanks for getting back to me here. That’s a good question, perhaps you could try it on a staging site and see if you could have the same result. I’d recommend keeping a working backup of your website when testing it out.
