• I am currently in the final stages of using WP to bring a blog hosted on TypePad back under our control. But I have a question: when the blog was originally constructed, the people who put it up used a rather funky hack to give authors a top-level URL (blog.mysite.com/author-name would direct people to that authors posts).

Now, I am assuming that I have to use a Rewrite to get old bookmarks to point to the new structure (blog.mysite.com/author/author-name) but all my attempts so far have caused my blogs “This page could not be found so search here…” page to come up.

    What gives?

And we have not done the DNS redirecting yet, so the WP blog currently resides in https://www.mysite.com/wp/. Could this have something to do with my troubles?
