• So I thought I’d ask the forums! I am trying to push my local DB to my staging DB. I connect the DBs just fine the I try migrating. It goes through the whole process and right when it says finalizing I get this …

    Migration failed
WordPress database error: [Can’t find file: ‘./dcd_0517_stage/_mig_wp_commentmeta.frm’ (errno: 2)]
    RENAME TABLE _mig_wp_commentmeta TO wp_commentmeta

So what is this mumbo jumbo about a _mig table? If I try to remove this table from migrating then it just moves onto the next table and gives me the same error for that table.

    Please help!

Completed the WP Migrate DB of my site. As you may see on https://www.mustseeinmexicocity.com the theme, the heading and the footer and the lateral bar all were exported correctly although part of the language items in the lateral bar were mixed up. Unfortunately, the content from my site is lost. Besides i cant access to this site via /wp_admin because doesn’t accept my password. Can you tell me Why the exported content was lost?

Will appreciate your help very much.

How did you migrate the data? Did you have a local site, and pushed it to your live site? If so, the data should still be on your local site so you don’t have to worry that you have ‘lost the data’.

I might try to wipe the site’s DB then try to do the migration over again on a clean slate, but this is all assuming you have a proper workflow in place with a local and live site.

Also, I’m guessing you can’t get access into your WP admin because the passwords or rather the user credentials got messed up during the migration. That has happened to me before ?? I know there are some guides out there on trying to retrieve that password, but none of them worked for me.

Do you have access to the database for your live site? You could go into the database and do a manual reset to the password, and that should fix it.

Than you for your help. I am using WP Migrate DB before buying WP Migrate DB. Yes, I have wiped the site’s DB and tried to do the migration twice on a clean slate.
I think the workflow was correct since I could see the themes and the plugins installed in the live site and also when I wiped the live site’s DB the site’s front page that could be seen was the WP language selector page. Unfortunately at the end it didn’t work.
Yes i do have access tho the data base for my live site. I will do a manual reset to the password.

I wander, if by using WP Migrate DB Pro the DB exporting might work?

    Regards,

Same thing here. I tried first migrating to my live, deleting existing DB, but when finished I got the WP language selector page too.

Also installed WP since it was gone. Some of the data was there, like the child theme from my local site but all the data didn’t come through.

I also tried migrating to live site leaving existing DB but that didn’t work either.

I do get errors when trying to migrate to a “clean slate.” Looks like some of the data transfers and some doesn’t.
