    Hello,

I recently upgraded the Events Calendar plugin to 6.001 (free version). I notice it offers the following:

“To complete this major calendar upgrade, you need to migrate your events to the new data storage system”

When I run the update preview I get an error for each event:

generated an error: [Undefined constant “TECEventsCustom_TablesV1MigrationEVENTS_CALENDAR_PRO_FILE”]

This doesn’t seem to be covered by the troubleshooting tips.

    Wordpress version = 6.0.2
    PHP Version = 8.0
    Web Server =apache
OS = Rocky Linux 8 (up to date)

    Hi @alphacrucis,

Thanks for taking the time to report this.

Unfortunately, I can confirm this is a legit bug on our end that affects the migration under specific circumstances.

I have created a bug report and it’s very likely we’ll release a fix for it in the next upcoming release.

In the meantime, please hold on running the migration. Your site will still continue to work just like before.

We’ll notify you as soon as the fix is released.

    Thanks again

    Hello Victor,

Thanks for the information. I will wait until the next plugin update and will try again. I can confirm that there are no problems with the site.

    Cheers Bill

Hi @vicskf, sorry to hijack this thread. I have the following error on migration preview:

“[event name[ generated an error: [The start_date and start_date_utc has a conflict when using the timezone of the event.. The end_date_utc does not match the value of end_date with the timezone.]. Update the event and try again, or check out our Troubleshooting tips.”

It can be resolved manually by changing the UTC time offset to the country/region format… however there are hundreds of past events this would need to be done to, a large admin burden.

Is there a better way to update all these offending events enmasse ? I can’t migrate until then otherwise ??

    Regards,
    Sam

Hi @xazos79, no worries, and sorry to hear about this. Appreciate you sharing the findings and solution here. However, we do not have a way to resolve the issue yet. For what it’s worth, we are working on improving the migration process, and we will be releasing an update soon.

For now, reverting to the previous version or not migrating 6.0 would be the best option for you.

We’d leave this thread open and notify you if there are updates.

    Best,
    Abz

Thanks Abz. I’ll wait for the update and see if the migration is allowed.

I’d suggest maybe using the “Site Wide Timezone” as a selectable option during migration to automatically update the timezone for each existing event.

    Cheers,
    Sam

    Hello,
Since I updated to 6.0.0.1, I don’t have these kind of error message, but I can’t open events anymore on front side. I get a blank page instead.

On wp-admin panel all seems to works fine. I downgrade version and it’s working again but with a red compatibility alert on WP 6.0 in Extensions list.

Any idea how I can fix it and get 6.0.0.1 version working fine ?

    Thank you
    Regards

I can confirm that version 6.0.1 has fixed the issue for me. The migration has completed successfully.

    Hi.
We still get an error when Upgrading existing events.
The only information the log or report shows is the Name of the not migrated events, URL and a “please try again” which is not really helpful.
