    Hello,

I want to migrate my Galleries to FooGallery and tried to use the “FooGallery Migrate” Plugin.

The result is always the same:

Something went wrong with the migration and the page will now reload. Once it has reloaded, click “Resume Migration” to continue with the migration.

First of all this is not a surprise, because I really try to migrate a lot. I have close to 2.800 galleries from NextGEN Gallery! It seems logical that this cannot be done all at once. The solution seems very simple: Migrate step per step. Maybe select only ten galleries at once? That would be the very first thing to try.

Unfortunately this is what is not working. I select only a few galleries and click on “Start Gallery Migration”. The bar with the selection boxes disappears briefly. It loads and loads and loads. When it freezes again, the bar with the selection boxes appears again. And there you can see that ALL galleries have a check mark. It looks like clicking on “Start Gallery Migration” selects all galleries even though I only set the check mark on ten of them.

So the program doesn’t let me select only a limited number of galleries to migrate at one time.

    Is there a solution available?

    Greetings,

    Hi @sfrueh

I’m sorry to hear you’re experiencing issues with your migration. Based on your detailed explanation, it seems the migration is failing due to a timeout, likely caused by the extended duration of the operation. This is a common issue on overburdened shared servers.

The migrator tool allows you to migrate a smaller number of selected galleries. To test this, try selecting just one gallery and attempt the migration.

To troubleshoot further, I recommend increasing the PHP Memory Limit for your site, even if temporarily. You can contact your hosting provider for assistance with this, or follow this guide: How to Increase the PHP Memory Limit.

    Thanks,

    Kind regards,
    Elvis

    Hello @elviiso ,

it does not work, even if I select just one single gallery.
So it seems not to be a PHP memory issue. Even with default memory settings it should let me migrate one gallery…

It is also not a plugin conflict. I deactivated everything but the old gallery plugin, the foo gallery and the migrator. But still it does not work.

I’m still not quiet sure if the program understands that I have only selected one gallery to migrate. Just before it stops, it shows all galleries as selected. Of course, this could also just be a display error.

    Greetings,

    PS:
I’m away until Friday, but I’m very excited about answers in this thread. Really would love to be able to use FooGallery.
