migration assistant hangs

I’m trying to use the migration assistant to change my domain name from https://jennaavery.com to https://calledtowrite.com. When I enter the old and new domain names and press Change, the screen loads for a minute, then goes blank — I still see the dashboard on the left but the main screen is now empty/gray. It is not continuing to load.
I believe I have all the FTP settings correctly configured. I’m never being asked for my FTP password.
Any tips?
