migration advice – same same server, to root directory, after domain name change

    We have a site ready for launch, but it’s a slightly more complicated than usual migration scenario, and advise is appreciated.

    The site is currently in a staging subdirectory. We need to first change the domain name associated with our hosting plan. Next, the WP site needs to be migrated to the root directory, meaning we are not moving to a different server, but a domain name and directory change will happen.

    I’ve referred to the migration information in the Codex, but are there any other considerations given the non-vanilla migration we are about to do?
