Migrating wordpress

  • Hello,

    I am trying to migrate my wordpress site that I already install complete with content offline to online.

    After copy and paste the whole files and the database, I wonder why my online wordpress site requesting me to start over the installation?

    Do I have to do that? I thought I already copy the whole files as well as the database. Why do I have to start over the installation?

    If you have completed the WordPress and if you are trying to migrate the site from Local to server or from one server to another.

    Best is to use the plugin like Clone or Duplicator it will transfer the complete site.

    Many time when you migrate the Database and Site URL are still pointed to old path which may cause this issue.

    So when you migrate it is important that it reflects to the actual URL of site.

    I tried to install duplicator.

    Here is the tutorial and site that I downloaded from:

    I also wonder why the result of my installation is different from the tutorial:

    I cannot find the two links to download the installer and archieve files.

    Any idea what I should do?
