• Hello Team Heateor,

I’m in the process of creating a new Woocommerce website for a client and we are going to need to move all the products, users and orders from the old to the new.

Is there anything special I need to do or worry about when moving the users?

If we were to decide to deactivate the social login what happens to users who have used Social login? I would assume that they don’t currently have a password associated with their account so how would they get one. Would they do a ‘password reset’ to acquire one? How would that work? We want to keep the social login but I’m thinking that we need to get those users passwords before attempting to move them.

    Thank you for the support.

    Hi,

If you are moving the whole database of the website, then you don’t need to anything to preserve the passwords and usernames as the table that has these will be moved with the database.

Users get a link to set password when they social login if you have checked the checkbox Send post-registration email to user to set account password in the Advanced Configuration section at the social login configuration page in the admin area. After this, they can reset password too.

So, you can move the website without worrying.
