• Hi,

I’m currently updating a website for our company. In the past we had an external source helping with the back-end of WordPress but now we are on our own.

    To give you some context:

We currently have WordPress hosting our website but now that we have a new design version we’d like to update it on WordPress but this time using Elementor (a website builder plug-in) to facilitate the process in the future.

I’m trying to figure out what the best solution would be because we don’t want to make changes to the current website while creating the new one. I thought setting up a multisite but we don’t have the technical expertise and don’t want to break the current website.

Would it be best to set up a new WordPress using Elementor on a new server?

I also thought perhaps I can use my personal server to create the new website since it’s already installed in my computer then once it’s done migrating it to the company server. And if we go with this option what would be the steps to migrate everything once it’s complete?

Obviously, I am not a developer but I’d like to gain more knowledge on the subject. Any advice would be much appreciated!

    Thanks

    V

  • your solution is correct. Develop the new website at other place first then migrate to live site when done.

Yes, you can create the new website on your computer (local web server) then migrate.

If you are working with multiple persons, then it would be easier to host the development site online (a separate hosting account)
