• Ok, somewhat OT but I wonder if anyone here has any good suggestions.

In our IT team here we’ve been using WP for three years as an internal information ‘sharepoint’. The original plan was to use the pages to document a few important facts and the blog for announcements and tema news. Three years later we have 200+ pages but only 3 blog postings.. Frankly; its a mess.

I’m a big WP fan (use if for my personal site and a club site I run) but I think we should move to a wiki (MediaWiki) for the stuff we currently have in WP pages, and stick with the current system (email!) for the team news/announcements.

Excuses above aside; Does anyone have a suggestion about how to move the existing pages to another system?
Is there any tool/plugin which can extract the page structure into a format that might be easier to import into MediaWiki?
    – eg: a plugin or tool that can extract the pages into, say, text/pdf/doc/ooo format files in a folder?
    – Or would it be possible to extract the data directly from the database? I don’t really know what format it is in there, I’m no SQL expert but since our company is a web development outfit I’m sure I can find one to help me ??
    – Ideally I’d like to preserve formatting; these pages have many code fragments, tables and bulleted lists, but hardly any interpage links.

It would be really nice if I could automate the initial steps, rather than having to spend hours cut-n-pasting between WP and Mediawiki!
