• Hi,

I am in terrible need of help. I will need a new template after going onto www.remarpro.com.

Can I work on the new template without going on live yet?

How can I go about that now? Currently, my website is hosted on joomla and I hope to ave minimal disruption to it.

    Thanks!!

I would probably install WordPress in a folder, block search engine access to it (for duplicate content issues) and transfer all pages and solve template/theme issues. Then I would get rid of Joomla and all its traces and simply copy index.php and .htaccess from WP folder to root directory.

It’s only a suggestion, I can’t know what exactly you are doing. Nor I am familiar with Joomla. But WordPress can be installed in a folder and then if you just copy index.php and .htaccess to root folder it will work. It’s also a good security practice.

And don’t forget to unblock search engines at the end if you follow this suggestion.

I’m using hostmonster.com and with their one step installer button, it really helps. I’ll just need to create a page when installing wordpress like https://www.yourdomain.com/XXX “XXX” is the page that you want to name for working on our file without people seeing it you can set a username and password to log in.

    Easy peasy.

Thanks for all your help!! =)
