• I created a subdomain for this live site, watershedgeo.com, and copied over all files in cpanel to a dev folder and we’re using the temp url for the dev site, https://vps3813.inmotionhosting.com/~watershedgeo/dev.watershedgeo.com/.

The database uses that url for the siteurl and i’ve defined it in the config file. Also the dev site is using our dev database.

The issue is that even though the site loads, the images are broken. If I investigate on the front end with chrome inspector, the image URLs are using the tempURL but if I change the root to watershedgeo.com, leaving wp-content/uploads path intact, the pictures load properly. I’ve tried the velvet plugin to do a search and replace but doesn’t seem to work

This is just for development so if I could just get the pictures to load that way, by changing the root of the url, i could do waht I need to do.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

It appears the images are not being found in the development location. When using a file manager or FTP client like FileZilla, do you see all of your images stored in /dev.watershedgeo.com/wp-content/uploads/? I see that some images in this location are being found while others are not. After looking for your missing images in your directory the images are not there. The reason why images appear when you change the domain root is because those images are now being found in the original location.

To fix this, try going to your live /wp-content/uploads/ and copying /uploads/ over to /dev.watershedgeo.com/wp-content/uploads/ again (replacing all images).

    Does this work for you?
