I migrated a website from Wix to WordPress and I want to redirect some pages but I ran into some problems. The redirections I want to add are for category pages and product pages. In the old website the urls where example.com/category-name and example.com/product-name while in the new website they are example.com/product-category/category-name and example.com/products/product-name.

I created a csv file containing 3 columns. One for the old url, one for the new url and one for the redirect type. When using this method to upload redirects for links that already exist in my website this works fine but now that the links don’t exist on my website (for reference example.com/category-name doesn’t exist) it doesn’t work. When I export the redirects and open the csv file, in the target column, instead of having the url I uploaded it has “/unknown”.

I have no idea how to fix this problem and I would like some help on how to do it. Is there maybe another way I should format my csv file?

    Thanks!

    What is redirect type?

I don’t know what redirects you have created so I can’t really say what is wrong. Maybe you can give some details on one of the redirects and how it’s not working?
