Migrating from Serendipity

From my search of this forum, it looks like no one’s come up with a very good way to import from Serendipity to WordPress. The RSS import creates a lot of garbage HTML characters.

I’m wondering if anyone would be willing to write a script (or whatever) to import from Serendipity to Word, like the other migratory tools available at the codex. If this is a really complicated thing to do, we can discuss payment or rewards of some kind.
