Migrating a Joomla Site to WordPress then migrating its Blog

  • I am about to do a migration from Joomla! 1.5.22 Stable to WordPress 3.4.2 and hoping it goes well. The site I am migrating is a Joomla site but the Blog is WordPress.

    My questions is can I export using Tools/Export from the current Blog’s content from one WordPress blog then import to the new blog page without corrupting the Joomla data that was migrated? The site will be on the same domain as the current just upgrading to WordPress fully.

    I am upgrading and testing within a subfolder on the actual domain.
