Migrating a blogger blog to wordpress

Hello there,

I am thinking to migrate my Java blog running on Blogspot to wordpress with custom domain name. Since I am not an expert, I have some apprehension, as is it worth doing effort? what will happen to existing content etc? I have used blogger for couple of years, but want to take next step.

Any pointer or suggestion will be highly appreciated.
