• Hi,

I’m new to wordpress and trying to do something I tought is a simple task, but I’m not sure what is the best way to do it.

I have an old Drupal 7 site that I’m migrating to WordPress and the issue is the site has a quite simple custom post type (that contains the info: title, year and multiple images) and a page made with views that lists all the posts of that type. The page shows an image that you can click that opens a slider to show the images included in that particular post.

So quite simple, or so I tought.. I am used to Drupal and tought this would be a very easy thing to do in WordPress without needing to code anything. I can edit other peoples PHP scripts, but apart from that haven’t done much coding in almost two decades.

I tought I could use some kind of image gallery or portfolio plugin to achieve this. The goal is that it would be supper simple for a nontech person to add new posts of this type and the cms would do everything else.

  • Hey @mrroccojr,

Would you mind sharing a link to your old Drupal site or a screenshot of the layout?

Based on your description, this is definitely achievable in WordPress without coding by using the right combination of plugins. Having a visual reference would help ensure we provide spot-on guidance tailored to your setup.

    Looking forward

Thank you for your reply! Here is an example. Clicking the image opens a lightbox with more photos from that same project.
