• Hi everyone! I am completely new to the www.remarpro.com world, so I apologize if this is something simple to resolve.

I signed up on wordpress.com on a Premium account, thinking this was what I wanted. I then understood the difference between wordpress.com and www.remarpro.com (I didn’t even know two options existed…) so I cancelled my wordpress.com Premium subscription but kept the domain I had registered and paid for. I set up a hosting account on bluehost for www.remarpro.com and entered the domain name I had purchased through the Premium account on wordpress.com. I successfully installed www.remarpro.com on Blue Host and got my admin address.

However, everytime I login to my admin dashboard, I feel as though I’m still on wordpress.com. I cannot upload my own themes and when I check the troubleshooting, it discusses migrating to www.remarpro.com, which I already did.

Has anyone gone through this? I think my issue is that I used the same domain name, so it’s still ‘attached’ to wordpress.com. I tried transferring my domain name to Blue host, but it says it takes 60 days…! I’d like to get my blog up and running before that. Can anyone help?

Thank you so much in advance, and sorry for being such a newb at this (I promise I catch on fast!!)

You’ll need to make sure that you’ve changed your domain’s name servers to point to BlueHost. (contact Bluehost for your hosting account’s name servers, and your domain registrar’s support for how to change them)

When a domain is registered or altered, there is a process called propagation, where information about the domain name is passed to internet service providers all over the world. This process can take up to 72 hours (though usually much less). During that time, your domain may go to its old location, and you may also receive a warning message in your browser about “redirect errors.”

If you still have trouble viewing the site after 48 hours have passed, please try clearing your browser’s cache.

If that doesn’t work, try clearing your local DNS cache: https://support.opendns.com/entries/26336865-Clearing-the-DNS-Cache-on-Computers-Servers-and-Web-Browsers
