• Hi,

I’m trying to copy my website to my local computer (manually, as I’ve had no luck with plug ins).
I copied all the /var/www content, and exported/imported the DB.
I also followed the instructions from this website: https://wpbeaches.com/updating-wordpress-mysql-database-after-moving-to-a-new-url/
to update any links pointing to my previous domain.
It all seems to work, except permalinks. I’ve tried to edit twice the permalink settings, but it didn’t work. I also made sure .htaccess has the correct chmod.

What else can I try ?

    Thanks

    Does the default setting work?

If that works, then try reading Using_Permalinks before setting a custom permalink structure again.

Go to the permalinks under the setting menu and hit the save changes button. Check if its working. If its not working, try to change the permission of .htaccess into 777 (Folder access: Create and delete files).
