• Hello from Holland!
I am currently in the process of migrating all the posts, and related reactions, from my ‘old’ WP website to an environment of WP + BuddyPres as we are more and more becoming a social network and I rather like the BP functionality…

    My question:
Is there a way (other then manually) to migrate/convert the old data into BP groups/forums? We have about 1500 posts to migrate…

Thanks a million for any help.

  • Buddypress is a plugin for wordpress. You can even install it from your dashboard. There is no need to install a new version of wordpress unless you are updating to a more recent version.

The point is that I would like to use the BP functionality of Groups and Forums within Groups to organize my posts as they are getting so many and items are getting hard to find.

So…after upgrading to the latest version and installing the BP plugin I would like to move my posts under Groups and sometimes even Forums under a Group.

Hope you can help me with that issue…
    Thnx

Still not sure what you want to do, exactly.

Your posts would still have to be categorized in some way to identify them in any kind of automatic filter and migration process. Have you been using tags and categories?

you’d really be better off asking this in the Buddypress forums, where they can tell you not only if it’s possible, but whether it’s even a good idea.
