Migrate Content from Visual Composer to Beaver Builder

  • Hey,

    thanks for your great plugin. Is there a documentation how Beaver Builder saves columns and rows? I’d like to create a transfer script to be able to migrate content that has been created with Visual Composer to Beaver Builder content.

    It would be really helpful to get an idea on how to do that kind of automatically.

    Hey @fr00d,

    Apologies for the delayed response. All of the layout data is stored inside the WordPress _postmeta table in a serialized array using the keys _fl_builder_data and _fl_builder_draft for live and draft layouts respectively. You can check the article we have below for more info. ??

    I’ve reached out to our lead dev about creating a migration tool assisting users from a different builder but it’s a huge undertaking.

    are you getting along with the transfer script?

    I have to convert 2 sites from Visual Composer to Beaver.
    Would be great if there was a “simple” way in stead of walking through every page by hand.

    Even being a lot of work (it’s really a huge undertaking, as mentioned), but I believe it’s worth it, since LOTS of users could migrate from other editors such as VC. That would be a huge step to make BB the market leader in no time. (my 2 cents).

    Yeah, would be really great to have. This to move sites from a Visual Composer setup to a Beaver Builder setup. I also believe it will get you loads of new customers in no time. Now they tend to stick to Visual Composer because the migration is too painful
