after some testing, it will migrate away 30 images….

but if you were to try on say 500 images, it errors out and doesn’t do anything. it needs to be more efficient, hence the ajax way of queueing 1 by 1…. with a progress bar.

actually even a single image can have problems. i especially notice this for big file sized images.

i’m further convinced that an ajax progression should be added to this plugin, to queue the migrate away, as well as the uploadinary upload process 1 at a time, and show a progression similar to that of the excellent ewww image optimizer wordpress plugin which does this great.

We believe this issue might happen because of a timeout returned by your server.
Please check whether it works for you when you try to migrate away fewer and smaller images.
In addition, you can check whether you change the settings of your server to allow longer timeouts.

that still doesn’t say that cloudinary wouldn’t still benefit from using an ajax to queue these processes. other plugins have it and don’t suffer from this issue.

also those other plugins too were under stress by my server, but did not time out, but properly managed it :/

We thank you for your feedback.
It’s on our road-map to improve this.
