I get a notice from Microsoft Security Essentials that I have a backdoor virus in my backup zip files. backdoor:php/small.m I have run my antivirus multiple times on my wordpress site and it does not find anything, however, as soon as I download my backup zip files, I get a notice from MSE that one of the files has the backdoor:php/small.m virus in it?

Is this a false positive maybe, or do you think the virus is actually there? It appears to clean from the backup file, but then I don’t know if the backup file is now maybe corrupted or not? Any help or suggestions on this would be helpful.

    Hi,

This sounds more like a question about using Microsoft Security Essentials, which I have no experience of…. but, if you unzip the backup zip file, then presumably MSE will be able to then identify which file in particular within the zip has the infection – ?
