Microsoft IIS Upgrade plugins fails "Could not create directory"
-
Operating System : WINNT
Server : Microsoft-IIS/7.5
MYSQL Version : 5.1.57-community
PHP Version : 5.3.10When using auto update for quite a few plugins the process fails because of “Could not create directory” errors.
Updating the core WP works fine and some plugins are ok but on this particular site around 60% of them fail the upgrade process.
The work around is then to delete the folder ( at the server end via FTP or other system tools) and do a fresh install of the plugin.
It looks like a permission error. Typically on a Linux server we set these at 755 and it all works but for some reason the equivalent MS doesn’t work.
here is what the error looks like for a plugin that failed.
