    Hi,

I have enabled MFA on our website and have it set up on a Authenticator on my phone for login. However, on logging in it is saying:

“2FA is required to be active on your account. Please contact the site administrator”

There is no option to add in the MFA code.

As I am the site admin, I am not sure what to do here. My web host deactivated WF so I could login and sort it out… Thanks

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @jonedwards80,

Thanks for reaching out! That message should mean that 2FA is required but hasn’t been activated on your account yet. Once you’ve logged in and reactivated Wordfence, please go to Wordfence > Login Security and confirm that 2FA is active on your account. If it’s active, you should see a button to Deactivate it and an option to generate new recovery codes.

If 2FA is not currently active, please make sure to activate 2FA by clicking the Activate button. I also recommend downloading the recovery codes. We have a video on this process here: https://www.wordfence.com/help/tools/two-factor-authentication/

If 2FA was already activated, I would like to look at a diagnostic from your site to see if there is a plugin conflict on the site causing some issues. Can you send a diagnostic report to wftest @ wordfence . com? You can find the link to do so at the top of the Wordfence > Tools > Diagnostics page. Then click on “Send Report by Email”. Please add your forum username where indicated and respond here after you have sent it.

    Thanks,
    Margaret
