• I have Sassy Social Share and Open Graph Meta Tags installed and activated. I use Opera browser. I want to share posts to MeWe from my blog.

If I create and publish a new post and share it to MeWe, the share window for MeWe shows the correct post url, post title, and post content.

If I try to share a post that I published before I installed and activated Sassy Social Share and Open Graph Meta Tags, the share window for MeWe shows the correct post url, but it does not show the correct post title, and it shows nothing for the post content.

I will greatly appreciate any suggestions you can offer to fix my problem.

Would you post url of one of such old posts where you are facing this problem?

Thank you for responding to my trouble report.

I have determined that part of my trouble is caused by the post “slug”.
The old post is https://theunwoundwatch.com/2018/09/10/1335/, with a numeric slug.
The new post is https://theunwoundwatch.com/2021/01/26/tyranny/, with a post name slug.
The old and new posts are identical except for the slug and the publish date. I have determined that the numeric slug on the old post keeps the post title from showing in the share preview, and it also causes the wrong image to be displayed in the final share on MeWe. Do I have to change the slugs on all my old posts, or is there a bug in either Sassy Social Share or Open Graph Meta Tags?

The second part of my trouble is that the featured image thumbnail does not show up in the share previews for either the old post or the new post. In the settings for Open Graph Meta Tags, I have set featured image as the #1 priority. The Sassy Social Share demo shows a thumbnail to the left of the description — I don’t see that thumbnail area on my share previews.

I have run the Facebook sharing debugger. It reports one “Warning That Should Be Fixed”: Inferred Property The ‘og:image’ property should be explicitly provided, even if a value can be inferred from other tags. It also reports one other warning: Missing Properties The following required properties are missing: og:image, fb:app_id.

    Thank you.

MeWe sharer should also show meta content of the shared posts from the Open Graph Meta Tags that are present in the HTML page source of the web page, like other social networks do. I can see the meta tags are fine in the HTML source of your web pages.
I checked on the support website of MeWe and they don’t have any specific recommendation regarding this. Let me know if you are still facing this issue.
