Error message when I try to install MetaSlider is

Installation failed: Destination folder already exists.

The site is updated, and had an installation of MetaSlider that worked for at least two years. Today it more or less disappeared, I do not know why. Thank you for your help.

  • Hi @drmcdowell33,

Sorry to hear about that. Did the plugin disappear just today? Do you happen to have a backup of your site that you can restore?

You might need to access your site files using an FTP client or via cpanel and delete the old plugin folder in /wp-content/plugins/ before trying to install MetaSlider again.

Let us know how it goes.

Kim L, thank you very much for helping me with this. I found the site files via c-panel and I will delete the old plugin folder. I made a screenshot but don’t see how to attach it so I list the folder and files below. Please tell me if I delete the entire folder or any of these files. Karen

    -ml-slider
    +assets
    dist
    +themes

    Hi Karen,

    Thanks for the update.

Yes, please delete the entire ml-slider folder including the contents inside it, and then reinstall the plugin.

Let us know if we can help with anything else.

    Hi there,

Feel free to create a new thread if you have any other questions.

    Thanks!
